Ah. Apologies for not noticing your citation. However, you misquoted Margulis, and even she would have a hard time justifying your omission of some crucial words in the quote.
Note, too, that even the vast majority of deleterious mutations is NO problem for evolution, and has been noticed and accepted by evolutionary biologists. I don’t think anyone has ever argued that mutations all have to be immediately «better» (and even that is hard to quantify).
